![]() ![]() This might also be called the BIOS RESET switch or CMOS RESET in the product manual. Look up your motherboard model number and find out where the CLR_CMOS jumper is. Ģ.) Do this next step with the one above. The second setting will force your system in 640x480 resolution, just go with me on this one. The first option will disable the windows load screen with the progress bar (optional to disable but can cause odd issues on a monitor thats not the correct res or doesn't support it) and the important one is the "Base Video" which disables your video card drivers and uses the base video drivers from windows or the devices BIOS (your video cards). From there you will want to check mark "No GUI Boot" and "Base Video". Once in there go to the second tab called "BOOT". In either of those type "MSCONFIG" capitals not needed. Once into Windows Safe Mode go to your start menu and go to run (or type into the search bar for windows 7). Well sounds like your video card might be dead, odd timing I have to say but there are a few things you can try.ġ.) Load into safe mode by press F8 on system start-up. If that works go into the bios and disable the on board graphics. If I get a display I will go and download and install the nvidia drivers that I know work. Open up the case and take the 560 out so that the computer will have to use the on board graphics to give me a display. I have tried both and neither gave me a display. There is only 1 vga and 1 dvi port on the back of my computer. I am pretty sure that error message was due to me never disabling the on board graphics video card. I deleted all my nvidia drivers so that it would revert back to the drivers it came with. The thing that caused that error message to appear was some updates I installed yesterday. The no signal problem happened after using a fix method to get rid of some error that told me "You are not currently using a display attached to an Nvidia GPU". I am very confident none of the hardware is broken because it all worked yesterday. If the DVI works but the VGA does not, bad VGA cable or port on the monitor.Īccording to this, you have a 3yr warranty. If both ports fail on the 560GTX, bad video card. If nothing, then try it using your VGA port on the 560GTX. Plug the DVI cable into the monitor and computer (your 560GTX). Disconnect the VGA cable from the computer and monitor (if you can). the motherboard and fans and lights are all on like normal. i can hear the noise from when windows starts up. yeah the computer runs just as it always did except the monitor displays nothing. I was also able to play games at settings I doubt an onboard video card could handle.Ĥ. under dxdiag it was listed as display 1, with the intel hd thing as display 2. i know the computer did recognize the gtx 560 before this happened. On the back of my computer there is only one slot that the vga cable could possibly plug into. I have enver opened this computer myself. i am not sure, i had someone else put this together for me. No reason to potentially void your warranty if it's a name-brand computer by reseating things and the like.Ģ I think it's just some 15 pin VGA cable that goes right from the monitor to the back of the computerģ. Your computer may also be under-warranty (is it a name-brand like Dell or home-built?). I would not suggest opening your computer case until you do the first-step troubleshooting, as you may run into more problems doing that if you aren't particularly familiar with the parts and where they are. You should be able to find it listed somewhere on it.Ģ) What sort of cable are you using to connect it?ģ) Is it possible you plugged an HDMI cable into the on-board one instead of your add-in GTX 560?Ĥ) If you listen close do the fans on the computer turn on, does it beep, lights turn on, etc? On start up my monitor turns on and it flashes the logo then says a no signal message and it goes into power saving mode.ġ) What is your monitor? Brand and Model #. I am using a gtx 560 as my main video card along with some intel hd thing that came with the computer. Uninstalling my nvidia drivers fixed that problem when it happened another time. ![]() I uninstalled my drivers due to a "You are not currently using a display attached to an Nvidia GPU" message that was caused by installing a bunch of new updates. I have uninstalled my drivers before and after two restarts, the old drivers would automatically get reinstalled and everything would be fine, but not this time. Ok so I uninstalled my nvidia drivers and now my monitor gets no signal and displays nothing. ![]()
